Hyrum sits low in the south end of the valley, where soils tend to be heavier and hold water longer. Combined with the valley’s alkaline chemistry, that makes drainage and compaction the usual culprits behind a struggling Hyrum lawn — not a lack of fertilizer.

South-valley ground in Hyrum holds water, so compaction and poor drainage show up fast. Core aeration is often the highest-impact thing we do here.
High pH, locked-up iron
Hyrum’s soil runs alkaline, so iron gets locked up and lawns go pale. We test pH and correct it directly instead of adding more nitrogen.
Short pre-emergent window
We time pre-emergent to soil temperature so it’s down before crabgrass and broadleaf weeds get started.
